Rebecca Gibb: A dozen years on from the vintage, this is certainly starting to show its development in bottle, with mushroom, savory, woody herbs, and lamb-roast aromas. On the dense midpalate, it is soft and sits comfortably yet in a compact whole. The resolved tannins are starting to melt, leaving a mellow and maturing wine. The finish is medium to long, perhaps lacking the length of the ’09, ’10, ’15, and ’16, and the medicinal hint on the slightly dry finish suggests there might be something biological going on, implying drink now... Drink now to 2020.
