Rebecca Gibb: This was the late Thierry Manoncourt’s first vintage, and his wife continues to welcome guests to the château with inimitable charm and grace. The season was incredibly dry and created a rich, rounded red. Smoked paprika-infused meat, tea leaf, rose petals, and dried fruit make for a complex melange of flavors. The tannins are starting to dry out, and there’s a hint of volatility on the finish, but this is nevertheless a good wine that deserves drinking, preferably sooner rather than later. Drink now.
