Bruce Schoenfeld: From a drought year, this is the only Mondavi Reserve Cabernet that is all Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s a brisk, refreshing drink 40 years on, which itself is a notable achievement, though its primary fruit flavors are entirely gone. That makes it more an intellectual pleasure than a hedonistic one. I have a hunch this would have been remarkable 15 or 20 years ago.
