Jesús Barquín: Bright pale yellow. This wine opens a flight of commercial Manzanillas that naturally do not have the intensity or character of others bottled with minimal filtration, as is the case of those en rama. The nose offers herbal notes, aniseed, not very intense but clean. The palate mirrors this, but excessive volume detracts somewhat. 88
Andrew Jefford: Pale steel-gold. Fresh and dry: lemon, chamomile, and bread crusts. Less overt aromatic presence than the en rama wines (which it follows in the tasting order). Dry, fresh, restrained, pristine, absolutely scrubbed pure in style, almost weightless on the tongue but full of floating flavors of the sort the aromatic repertoire sketched out. Not a showy wine but very good. 90
Peter Liem: This is intensely savory, even Marmitelike, and it shows a nuanced complexity on both the nose and palate. It’s not tremendously long, but I like its assertive personality, and it continues to reveal additional facets upon revisits. 90
