Jesús Barquín:Intense brown amber, slightly cloudy. More enjoyable and complex on the palate, with balanced sweetness and acidity, spicy, and a hint of tar, than on the nose, where the tar powers through. Still a tad bitter on the finish. 92
Andrew Jefford:Deep, russet-brown, with a fine glint to it. Lots of unlit tobacco leaf, rummaged earth and autumn woodland here; glowing coals, too, resonant and warm, though the actual fruits themselves have now slid onto the backseat and are dissolving in a kind of apricot blur. An antidote to winter: lovely. Weighty, burned, tangy, generous, and long on the palate, but without the aromatic complexity and finesse, and qualities of definition and refinement, that one hopes for in a great 30 Year Old. A very good wine, nonetheless, and every bit as concentrated as one would wish. 90
Richard Mayson:Mid-deep russet to amber tawny; rich and slightly singed on the nose, a hint of roasted coffee bean to add to the complexity; a touch of torrefaction on the palate to add to the rich, spicy dried-apricot fruit and milk-chocolate richness on the finish. Lovely overall balance. 94
