Jesús Barquín:Deep red with chestnut rim. Intense and complex nose, perhaps also a tad rustic, with a combination of vegetal notes, candied fruit and a touch of tar. Quite sweet, it gains even more complexity and definition on the palate, adding some nuances of roasted toffee and spice. Long if a tad alcoholic aftertaste; nevertheless quite an impressive 10 Year Old Tawny. 91
Andrew Jefford:Very deeply hued, but lots of walnut stirred into the russet. Much to like here, in deep, orchestral guise, raisin, date, cigar leaf, humus, moist brown sugar. Concentrated and deep on the palate, with a weight and complexity unusual in a 10 Year Old—not just all the usual sweet red fruits, dried fruits, and brown sugars, but some notes of pine and eucalyptus, too. Possibly divisive, given its depth of color, aroma, and flavor, a style antonym to a 10 Year Old like [Warre's Otima]. But I like the deep rolling generosity and wealth of this almost chocolate-and-raisin 10-Year-Old. 89
Richard Mayson:Very deep color at the core, thin tawny rim; young, heady, and a bit disjointed on the nose, some secondary, savory complexity; rich, rather soupy, and ill defined on the palate, stewed plums with the tannins to match. Clumsy finish. 79
