Jesús Barquín:Intense brown-amber. Clove and cinnamon are the first impression on the nose, then some roasted walnuts. Quite impressive mouthfeel, too, but there is a slight lack of balance on the finish, dominated by tar and a bit of alcohol. 90

Andrew Jefford:Glowing, deep russet red. Sweet, deep, complex pressed leaves, mint, dry fruits, moist vanilla pod. A serene compost of enticing scents, yet with intrinsic freshness and lift, too. Grand aromatics here. On the palate, this is smooth yet concentrated, searching, dry, long, multilayered; there’s rich glycerol, soft brown-sugar richness, pressed-leaf dryness, and earthy, compost-like intrigue, too. Another quality of its excellence is the sustained, glowing, ripe, rounded acidity that is there, even if almost hidden under all of the wine’s other glories. Very fine. 94

Richard Mayson:Lovely pale amber-tawny color, all the way through to the rim; inviting, this wine sings from the glass with its fresh glacé fruit and savory character; soft, suave, with a touch of spice and long linear finish, which dries off nicely. 90
