Neal Martin: The last vintage before Sassicaia was granted its own DOC, the 1993 is comparatively deep in color, with lifted black fruit, cedar, a touch of cooked meat, and palpable minerality—a bouquet that stretches its arms with continued aeration. The palate is fresh and vibrant on entry: a filigree lattice of tannin, good depth and structure, with bright-red cherried fruit and candied orange peel dancing across the citrus-fresh finish, which segues into a touch of biscuit on the aftertaste. Drinking beautifully now. 17.5
