Andrew Jefford: Dark, head-turning wine, with a devastatingly attractive scent of closely woven fruit, incense woods, cocoa pod, and sweet spice. Rich, layered, and close-packed on the palate; tannic roots penetrate to every corner of the mouth. Few Burgundies set off with this much luggage, yet the disposition of forces and vigor of fruit is such that eventual refinement seems assured. Majestic.
