BUY THE WINE

Michel Bettane: Golden color, very rich and ripe, lots of sugar; noble rot in evidence but on the heavy side; lacking the balance of the best neighbors. Intense, made for aging but, for my taste, oversweet. Lacks acidity, in fact. 16.5

Thierry Desseauve: Fat and rich, orange marmalade, quite long, but not very impressive; good, rich, and heavy wine. 17

Michael Schuster: Mature mid-gold; dense, honeyed nose; generous, ample Sauternes; intensely sweet, rich, long, and powerful; a fairly potent expression of the vineyard; refined, yes, but heavyweight, too. Now–2030+. 17.5
