Nicolas Belfrage: Deep with mainly ruby rim. Sturdy upstanding fruit on the nose, good now, with the suggestion of future improvement. Rich, ripe, and juicy, but with a slight tendency to jamminess. Still, the tannic structure is there, as is adequate acidity, so it should last well. Drink from 2016. 16

Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to ruby, pink rim. Intense, mature, red-fruit nose, earthy with raw meat and hints of oriental spices. Mature palate, with sweet fruit and a fairly long, very clean finish. Extremely well-made Brunello that needs time. 18

Andrew Jefford: Deep, dark black-red. Quite pronounced animal notes and smoky-bacon richness. A hugely concentrated, hugely ambitious wine on the palate: dense, dark, sweet, and assertive, but very delicious, too. A symphony of ripeness. I would have preferred more freshness on the nose, but the palate is almost a meal in itself and very good. 16.5
