Nicolas Belfrage: Medium deep with some turn. Hints of herb and fresh red-cherry-fruit on the nose. Fine fruit on the palate, good acid/fruit balance, and correct tannins. Good wine, lacking only a touch of excitement. Drink from 2015. 15.5
Bruno Besa: Garnet to orange and pink. Refined, complex, and clean red-and-black-fruit nose, with figs, cherries, orange peel, and hints of hazelnuts. Wonderfully inviting palate, with superb tannic grip that is perfectly balanced by the acidity and sweet cranberry-like fruit. Extremely long and elegant finish. A beautifully crafted Sangiovese that lacks only a bit of complexity at present. Time will tell. 18.5
Andrew Jefford: Clear, limpid black-red. Quite evolved, I have to say, but not bad either—a cauldron of sweet cherries trying to decide if they want to be confit or to be jam. Warm cereal note, too: semolina. Soft, smooth, and open on the palate. Good wine, but not quite great Brunello. 12.5
