Tim Atkin: Garnet/blood red, with some development. Slightly dumb nose but with hints of red fruits and tea leaf. Big, rich, powerful, almost curranty style; this needs time to open up. good tannins, acidity, and persistence, with the structure to age. Not the most charming wine in the world, perhaps, but the tannins should soften. 15

Nicolas Belfrage: Some depth of hue, though quite correct. attractive, up- front cherry-and- sandalwood nose, not powerful but fine. Forward, fruity wine, ripe and ready, which combines immediate drinkability with the possibility of aging well, though a little short on the finish. 15.5

Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to tawny, orange rim. A fairly simple nose, with some red fruit and spices; fairly astringent, and medium to full body on the palate. 14
