Jesús Barquín: Bigger than the 1970, with a tad less finesse; too; fleshier, with greater body. A very good wine that appears more modern in style that the rest from this house. 18

Simon Field: Elegant of hue: gentle amber-green whispers at rim. Palate confident, with very fine natural acidity, notes of herb and white pepper; wild strawberry and hints of charcuterie and earth. Very fine; great food wine; great wine, full stop. 18.5

Jancis Robinson: Mid-ruby. Very sweet and malty on the nose. Lots of acidity. A bit rough and ready. Pure fresh fruit and sleekness but just a little bit more meager than the 1970. Drink 1985–2005. 17.5
