Stephen Brook: Medium gold. Delicate apricot nose, with a touch of oak still evident. Fresh attack, moderately sweet, but a restrained style that’s far from sumptuous. Perhaps it’s palate fatigue, but the alcohol seems to obtrude. I don’t sense much complexity or weight. The wine saunters along the palate without many nuances or much light and shade. There is some persistence of flavor, but then it comes to a fairly abrupt halt. 15
Margaret Rand: Darkish color, quite evolved, and a touch of toffee. Complex, balanced, roasted, nice balance: a very good wine but without the thrills of some. Well made, well judged, with a good finish. 16
Michael Schuster: Mature orange-gold; still relatively reserved on the nose—a touch of early marmalade maturity; concentrated medium-full wine; intensely sweet, moderately complex, with flavors that mirror the nose. Faint marmalade in character; medium length. Good, not special. Now to 2020. 15.5
