Nicolas Belfrage: Some depth of color, with oranging band. Nose combines oak and fruit character. Loads of sweet ripe fruit grown to perfection—very good example of beautifully made wine that just slightly falls down on authenticity. Very penetrating and long and fine; indeed, an excellent advertisement for the modern approach to Barolo that dyedin- the-wool traditionalists would not approve of but wine lovers will applaud. Drink from 2015 for 20 years - 17
Stephen Brook: Deep plum red. Fragrant though quite meaty nose. Has charm. Medium-bodied, sleek, a touch soft, but it’s concentrated and has fine acidity to give freshness and some finesse. Intense on the mid-palate, with a dusting of pepper and spice. Not showing much complexity or depth at present, but there’s plenty of activity and bustle in the wine, so to speak, and there’s vigor on the finish. Good length - 16
Jancis Robinson: Blackish, with a vague hint of rust at the rim. Very heady and opulent on the nose. Some freshness counterbalances the richness. Dry finish. Embryonic at the moment, but it should get there. Relatively modernistic. Drink 2015–23 - 16
