Nicolas Belfrage: Medium depth, bright. Good floral hints on the nose, clean and pure. Structured and complex on the palate, with various flowers, herbs, and perhaps truffles coming through. If it has a defect, it is slightly low acidity, but tannins should see it through. There’s plenty of flavor; it’s long and it’s good. Drink from 2015 for 10 years. 17
Andrew Jefford: Plenty of depth here, though the hues are autumnal already. Sweet, creamy, cherry scents; a hint of pollen and balsam. Vivid, light, tangy, open; has length and concentration, and the intrinsic Nebbiolo nobility, though not a wine for long storage. Satisfying if drunk soon, however. 13
Franco Ziliani: Wonderful ruby, intense color. Good complexity of aromas; very fleshy, with good ripeness and freshness. Plum, floral, earthy notes; some licorice and rosemary; very rich and elegant, across a wide spectrum. Rich on the palate, fleshy, luscious fruit, structured body and silky, velvety tannins. Richly savory, with dried plum, licorice, and earthy notes. Still very young, but great and complex. You could drink this now, but it would be better to hold it in the cellar for 10 or more years. A classical, traditional, well-made Barolo. 17.5
