BUY THE WINE

Alex Hunt: The nose is unusually closed for a fiveyear- old wine, while the palate has a distinctive minty freshness that recalls Australia more than Argentina. The burly structure is, perhaps, indicative of the latter; in any case, the rather drying tannins give more of an impression in the mouth than any particular fruit flavor. Curious and a bit hollow - 14.5

Andrew Jefford: Dense, saturated black-red. Sweet, rounded, warm, harmonious, but perhaps a little too sweet, a little sickly sweet. It smells of peach and peach leaf more than vivid red and black fruits, and the oak component is very prominent. On the palate, it is a vivid, emphatic, and showy red wine but in a higher register than the best, and also with a slightly simpler and more primary style than the rest. There are ample tannins, but they only have the middle register to bond to. In sum, this wine seems to owe its profile more to the winery than the vineyard; young vines? 13

Jancis Robinson: Blackish crimson. Sweet and light and furry and round, but without a real core of fruit. Drink to 2017 - 15.5
