Tim Atkin: Deep, dense color. Attractive nose, good oak integration. Lots of oak, but savory fruit to balance it. Fresh acidity and length. Curranty fruit. An old-fashioned style that nods toward modernity. 16

Alex Hunt: Rich blackberry aromas, still with some freshness and life. Perky acidity, nice mineral evolution of the fruit, good balance. Nicely made wine. 14.5

Anthony Rose: Good, vivid, rich color, cedary oak veneer, and fine, fresh, and concentrated sweet mulberry and dark-cherry fruit quality, nicely leavened by oak spice and vanilla. Very good, fresh acidity, supple tannins, and a beautifully balanced, seamless fruit quality, indicating the hand of a winemaker who really knows what s/he’s about. Serious stuff. 17
