Nicolas Belfrage: A touch quiet on the nose; highish octane, almost Porty. Flowers and red fruits. Rich and mouth-filling, with a bittersweet kick at the back, which lasts impressively. The Porty character persists, so that one longs for a bit of good Stilton. A joy to drink now, but it will keep well. 93
Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to ruby. Intense, mineral, earthy red- and black-fruit nose, with figs, prunes, black cherries, and hints of violets and Mediterranean herbs. Mature, round, soft palate, with clean, slightly overripe fruit, long yet a bit onedimensional finish. 91
Andrew Jefford: Deep, clear black-red. Currant and bay leaf, with the sweetness of high summer mingling with a little planty acerbity: a lovely symphony of quiet ripeness in the aromas of this wine. Deep, taut, tense on the palate: ample, sweetly ripe fruits and a big sweep of cleansing tannins. The effect is a little bit bipartite at this stage, but harmony will surely come with time to this high-quality wine. 91
