Richard Mayson: Properties in the Douro Superior performed very well in 1998, escaping much of the rain that fell farther downstream; similarly deep and opaque; slightly more open and opulent on the nose, mint and eucalypt ripeness showing; soft and fleshy, with lovely berryfruit purity and sweetness backed by good grippy tannins mid-palate, which tail off on the finish leaving pure berry fruit once more. Drink to 2030. 16.5
