Nicolas Belfrage: Typical medium depth, with a fresh-looking rim. Plummy, fruit-salady notes. Rich fruit and a good dollop of tannin, coffee and dark chocolate in the background; needs a bit of time but will drink well for several years from 2016. 16.5
Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to tawny rim. Complex, restrained, and mineral nose of small black and red fruits, with aromatic herbs, cedarwood, and hints of petrol. Full body, slightly green tannins, yet clean and fairly long. 16.5
Andrew Jefford: Deep garnet red. Rich, complex, truffley, dense, planty, engaging, almost primeval: a thick planty forest of exciting scents. They need to settle down a little, but there is so much here. And on the palate, too: concentrated yet balanced and harmonious, with completely splendid textures to it, and great swan wingbeats of aroma lifting from those tannins. Everything in this wine seems to evoke plant and vineyard, and it is just what I hope to find if I open a bottle of Barolo. Grand wine. Mmm! 18.5
