Bruno Besa | Tawny to pink. Restrained, compact small red fruits nose, with sweet tobacco, some oak, orange peel and hints of smoke. Medium to full body, with lively red-fruit palate and defined, almost weightless, character. Long and clean. | 93

Andrew Jefford | Clear, dark, black-rose red. Soft and savory, but very slightly sandy or muddy, too; oiled leather; hay in the barn. Intriguing and unusual. Vivid, lively acidity and relatively delicate tannins dominate the palate of what is a relatively slender wine for the vintage, though one that is perfectly enjoyable now. | 83

Michael Palij | Classic La Morra nose, with tinned strawberry, red currant, cranberry, and tar. Some woody notes, including cedar, and balsamic notes, including sandalwood and tobacco. Palate shows lovely integration, with the high alcohol set off against the crisp acidity and firm, fine grape tannins. Finish is suitably impressive. Needs another few years to integrate | 94
