BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Opaque purple. Impressive nose. Ripe, rich, complex. Excellent palate. Quite tannic, but balanced by fruit and acidity. Appealingly savory and dry, good length and freshness. A wine that reveals itself in the glass. And will age. 16.5

Alex Hunt: Closed, poised nose, with nicely defined berry fruit waiting to emerge. On the palate, the tannins provide just enough grip without dominating, the acidity keeps it fresh, and given a little more time in bottle, it should blossom. 14.5

Anthony Rose: Very intense, inky, youthfully ruby-purple. Quite sweet and spicy on the nose with nicely integrated oak; good, rich, dense, and intense dark-berry-fruit flavors; good, fresh, balancing acidity, firm and muscular tannins, making this a candidate for the longer haul. 15.5
