Tim Atkin: Mid-purple. Feral nose. Lacks clarity. Lots of oak, lots of alcohol, and not a lot else. Faintly confected fruit, slightly sweet. Short. 9

Alex Hunt: A lot of wood showing here and a bit of reduction. A shame, because the underlying fruit is attractive. The palate, though, remains somewhat hard and impenetrable, with powdery tannins and wood conspiring to occlude the fruit. 12

Anthony Rose: Dense, vivid ruby. Nice red-fruit perfume, with hints of vanilla oak. Quite firm but very nice, richly concentrated fruit and textured tannins, with good overall balancing acidity and structure in a seamlessly fruit-driven style. 16
