BB | Ruby to tawny. Clean, youthful red fruits on the floral, herbal, slightly vegetal nose. Medium-bodied, lively, if slightly simple, red-fruit palate, with a clean, fairly firm finish. 91
MP | Huge nose of ripe blackberry, stewed plum, black cherry, wet leaves, damp earth, campfire, tinned strawberry, licorice, cinnamon, clove, and bay leaf. The tannins are balanced if a little chalky; there is plenty of acidity but the fruit on the finish lacks the freshness of the top wines in this tasting—there's plenty of it but it is a little dull and stewed. 91
AJ | Dark, black-red; clear. Another wine with a drying, kerosene note—but there is an attractive side here, too: fragrant, lifted cherry and sweet grasses. Almost an underlying creaminess, too. Deep, long, resolved, and settled, with fine, sustained acidity and ample yet silky tannins. Thoroughly convincing and a good effort for the vintage. 91
