AJ | Bright, clear and translucent scarlet red. Warm, earthy and furry, with a density of fruit which bodes well; soft in outline at this stage. Deep, dense, concentrated and vivid on the palate, in brisk and quite forceful style, with prominent acidity to match the fruits. Urgent wine which will probably benefit from another half-decade; excellent raw materials here.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2036. 90
BB | Deep ruby to garnet. Vinous, open, red fruits, chalk, herbal, intense nose with tar, violets and blood oranges. Firm palate with big, fine tannins, rich cherry fruit, long and earthy finish. Needs time to show its best.Drink Dates: 2030 - 2040. 93
MP | A huge whack of plump fruit including cherry, plum, damson, liquorice, coconut and sawdust. Too much oak for its own good leading to dusty tannins and an attenuated finish. Nebbiolo seldom needs even a hint of new wood - it robs it of the natural fruit complexity.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2028. 90
