SF | Pale in terms of this flight of six, but with a generous soft gold lustre. Attractive nose of chamomile, yeast and brine; pure and clean, its biological pedigree shining through. The palate disappoints a little, its somewhat amorphous structure defying expectations of razor-sharp definition and an innate complexity born out of carefully managed austerity. Something a little medicinal lingers after the filtering machine has done its worst. Unusual, to put it mildly.. 86
AJ | Pale mid-gold. Strong, sea-dog and briney flor blast, and almost a whiff of peaty whisky, though there would be no logic to any similarity. It's also a touch sweet (burnt caramel) and fungal, too - mushrooms in a box where they can't breathe properly Lots going on and a bit wild and uncontrolled, somehow. Incense/frankincense, finally. Tangy, driving, concentrated, broad -- and the aromatic summary will serve. It's not an ultra-classical wine, severe and pure, heading off on its own; but big and windblown, hands on hips, welcoming all comers. A festival of flavours. Soft, sappy, ample. Maybe En Rama. Articulate and exuberant: terrific! But ... unclassical.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2025. 94
DW | Golden colour and classic Manzanilla aromas: wonderful shimmering intensity and then effortless harmonious shift and shuffle of silky textures and integrated savouriness with macerated cherry and rye-bread. Deep in flavour but graceful in feel.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2025. 94
