AJ | Bright clear walnut with russet glints. Honestly this lacks some aromatic lift, though there are other things to like: the figs and the dates and the fire in the hearth. Little sign of any fresher fruit or bright sweetness, but let's see what the palate brings. It's dense and concentrated but lacks aromatic intricacy, grain, nuance and finesse. Worth a look and the density and concentration will certainly impress, but not in any way a wine of legend. Drink Dates: 2025 - 2032. 87
SF | An intriguing style , almost overwhelmed by the edifice of its own potential. Notes of coconut, quince and chalky lemon-based fruit, a backstop of citric potential and a mid-palate which rejoices in the fact that so much sugar, after, three decades or so, can work in tandem with such a beguiling structure. Drink Dates: 2025 - 2050. 92
RM | Lovely nut brown to mahogany hue with a thin green glint on the rim; ethereal on the nose with glorious, heady, beefy aromas with a figgy, raisiny edge; broad and mouth-filling initially with wonderful textural richness and concentration punctured by rapier-like acidity that extends on the raisin and sultana finish with the merest hint of casky complexity. Glorious! Drink Dates: 2025 - 2125. 96
