BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage: Medium-deep, youthful. Strawberry, cherry, and herb prevail on the nose. Opens out nicely on the palate, with fresh acidity balancing good intensity of fruit, just the smallest hint of bitterness on the finish, and good length. Should drink well for several years. 92

Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to pink. Open, yet a touch vegetal on the nose. Green tannins and finish. 84

Andrew Jefford: Dark, deep black-red. Soft and bloody, warm stones, too, and the dry copse; complex and refined. Weighty, concentrated, intense, with a generously extractive style that works well, I think, with the vintage’s sweet fruits: blackberry and ripe plum, here, rather than the currants of some of its peers. An impressive, ambitious, attractive, and intriguing Brunello, with more sheer power than many of its peers. 90
