Alison Buchanan: Deep mahogany/prune in color, this exudes chocolate raisins on the nose, with an earthy subtext. The palate is succulent, ripe, and extremely rich, but there is a serious dimension here, too, demanding an appreciation of layered complexity, dried fruit layered with marmalade and caramel cream. This prevails through a protracted, balanced, and fine finish. 17

Jesús Barquín: Medium mahogany, opaque. The nose displays notes of aromatic herbs and a whiff of alcohol. Ditto for the palate, with a correct finish somewhat marred by slightly green tannin. 15

Julian Jeffs: Deep color. Varietal nose. Slightly herbal flavor and rather short. 11
