Bruno Besa: Garnet to tawny. Complex, leather and tobacco, wild red-fruit, and road-tar nose, with hints of petrol and rose water. Medium body, and a rather one-dimensional mid-palate, with a clean, spicy, and herbal finish. 88

Andrew Jefford: Bright, glowing garnet-red with tile glints. Milk, drying mushrooms, and suede: attractive and haunting aromas. Fresh, graceful, understated, and well within the classical repertoire. Graceful and well-aged wine, which is very nearly ready to drink now; lovely secondary complexities already. Fine quality here—lingering, long, delicate, choice. A lovely bottle. 91

Michael Palij: Bizarre nose of fish oil, menthol, and some VA, red fruit (tinned strawberries), forest floor, and floral notes of rose and jasmine. On the palate, the VA contributes an attenuated and angular shape to the wine, and there is insufficient fruit to provide balance to the edgy acidity. 86 "| Deep ruby to garnet. Mature, black-fruit nose, complex, with a decadent road-tar and prune character, hints of truffles, and forest-floor notes. Rich, ripe, black-fruit palate, generous and mature, with a ripe finish. Not refined but generous and clean. | 89 "
