Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red in color, just off opaque. Cool, fresh, with some root spice and gentian: attractive, fine-lined, and elegant. Pristine, too, though grass and hedge-trimmings aren’t far away. Clean, fresh, lively, elegant, cool, with acidity clearly in the structuring role—but the ripeness line has been crossed. I wouldn’t wait for this, but it will be deft and engaging in the short term. | 88
Michael Schuster | Light, ripe red-fruit and gravel nose, with a hint of herbs, too; medium-full, fresh in acidity, very lightly tannic, a restrained Margaux balance. Sweetly ripe, long and subtle, gently classy wine, with finesse and length; long and even, restrained but harmonious. Fine Margaux. Not a big wine, but complete, and very nice, at a mezzo piano dynamic. Drinkable with pleasure now, a decade and more of gentle Margaux pleasure to come. Now to 2032+. | 91
