Nicolas Belfrage: Notes of medicinal herbs on the nose—interesting—plus cherry fruit. Not overly concentrated but juicy and gulpable, the kind of wine of which you can drink a bottle. Brightness is its feature, as well as sheer drinkability. 91
Bruno Besa: Ruby to pink. Super-refined, intense, complex, clean, and youthful nose. Crushed stones, wild strawberries, cranberries, mint, fresh herbs, salty, mineral, absolutely inviting and mature, sweet yet super-fresh red-fruit palate, with fine tannins and a long, salty finish. Definitely one of the stars of the tasting, showing the real potential of Sangiovese to produce world-class wines, if anyone still doubts. 97
Andrew Jefford: Clear black-red. Sweet, warm, lifted: cream and truffle. Refined and graceful, with plenty of secondary charm already. Generous, soft, full: a seethe of fine redcurrant and sweet plum fruits carried forward on rich tannins. Exuberant and deep, structured and long—but slightly lacking in freshness and vividness for this stage of proceedings, and perhaps just a little too ripe. Fine wine, nonetheless, which the tannins will ensure lasts well. 88
