Essi Avellan | Medium-deep lemon nose, with strong apple and woody-spicy characters. Tart palate, with good fruit intensity and length. Singular aroma-wise, but a good degree of vinosity and length. | 89
Simon Field | Soft straw color, an ambling gentle mousse. Things tighten up thereafter; rigor and complexity on nose and palate alike. Fruit from across the spectrum: spice, honey, and nuts, Brazils, almonds, more maybe. Stone fruit on the palate, elegant, somewhat restrained. One almost wishes for a little more by way of organoleptic disclosure 12 or 13 years down the road. So be it; accomplished and harmonious. Quo vadis? Not so sure. | 92
Anthony Rose | Mid-gold in color. The aromas here show appley notes and a savory, umami-like depth from yeasty autolysis. There’s a seductively concentrated richness and fullness of ripe apple flavors on the palate. Tongue-coating praliney, nutty richness of flavor and fine-textured tangily crisp mousse that’s mouthwateringly dry and refreshing on the finish. | 96
