Simon Field | Dense onyx color, the wine dark sea; plenty of matière evidenced by the swirl. Follow the trade winds and bask in a cornucopia of plenty. Smoky, bittersweet palate, a little rustic maybe, definitely unresolved. Where is the home key? We need time... | 88
Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red to a purple rim, but not a glass-clinger as some are. Straightforward, attractive but unremarkable fruits, though satisfying. A little mint in there, hiding behind the sweet blackcurrant and pencil lead. Very impressive on the palate after that rather tenuous aromatic start: lovely pure access to a vein of deep and creamy blackcurrant, deft and fine-milled tannins; real poise and assurance. A super wine that will surely deserve a higher score once the aromatics begin to shake their tushies. | 90
Richard Mayson | Attractive semi-open minty floral aromas with some brooding intensity underlying. Ripe berry fruit, with firm dusty-spicy tannins leading to a firm, well defined finish with the berry fruit reemerging. Not as fresh or vibrant as some but shows depth and intensity. | 92
