Simon Field | Deepest purple. Nose of fig, plum, loganberry, and even Seville orange; an intimation of Christmas cake, maybe. The palate is ludic, forward, and approachable, a little spice and pepper elegant in peroration. A very accessible vintage style, soft and welcoming. | 89
Andrew Jefford | Saturated deep black-red; a purple rim. Dense and rich, with lots of warm fruits here with a kind of pine-forest glow to them. Some tar and treacle, too. On the palate, this is rich, sweet, deep, and gratifying, with tarry, treacly fruits backed up by dense, sustaining tannins. Very sweet-toned in the final analysis. | 87
Richard Mayson | Attractive, fragrant, and slightly lifted on the nose, with underlying ripe fruit. Lovely, well- defined minty-berry fruit, supported by firm spicy tannins. Not big but showing freshness and definition throughout and onto the lovely, vibrant finish. | 92
