Tim Atkin | Nice and perfumed, with lots of coconutty sweetness. Attractive, balsamic, good balance. A wine in a lighter style. Good to drink now. Mature and complex. | 92
Simon Field | Full color; the aromatic has Rioja warmth: wild strawberries and herbs, a hint of aniseed and bay leaf, then a broad exultant vista with ripe fruit to the fore. Dark and brooding, but with admirable support from the chalky acidity and the weave of tannin. | 93
Andrew Jefford | Dark, now translucent red-black. Warm, gentle, soft, and open: Gorgeously nuanced and classical aromas here, with mellow fruits infused by subtle oak which seems to illuminate the wine from within. Lovely aromatic work: a pleasure to smell. This has much better concentration than most of its 2016 peers: The core of fruit sings, and the tannins and acidity are both seamlessly integrated. Lively, fresh, and engaging Rioja that is ready now but will continue to hold well. | 92
