Tim Atkin | Subtle, herbal, green pepper notes. Light, well-balanced, cooler vintage style, with fine, graceful tannins, a savory undertone, and the freshness and balance of the year. Slightly lacks mid-palate sweetness? | 91
Simon Field | Ruby to brick red; magenta tints; smoky, savory nose, dark fruit, loganberry, strawberry, and plum, a hint of bitter chocolate. The palate is mature and modest of construction, with an attractive, deftly complex character and a reassuring mid-palate elegance. | 90
Andrew Jefford | Dark, black-red, though now translucent to the core. Still warmly and sweetly oaky, but the plummy fruit has slipped back a little, and you sense that the wine might begin to thin and grow a little bony with a year or two more. Some tarriness, too. Intense and concentrated, but just a touch raw, now; the oak has drained some of the life force from the fruit. The concentration as such is admirable, nonetheless. | 90
