Nicolas Belfrage: Oak comes through on the nose. Plenty of ripe fruit on palate, with a very pronounced bittersweet kick at the back, which some will like better than others. But it is not marked down because of the palate but because of the nose, which is unconvincing. 88

Bruno Besa: Garnet to pink. Intense, mineral, crushed stones nose, with clean complex red fruit and hints of violets and fresh rosemary. Mature, firm, clean, very long palate, with compact cherry fruit, refined tannins, and a beautifully clean finish. Great Sangiovese for long-term cellaring. 96

Andrew Jefford: Deep black-red. Some toasty oak here, but it works well with the ripe fruit and dark freshness: very classy, fine-dining red. Lively, vivid, and vigorous, with the same style as the aromas sketched out. Unforbidding from the off, but plenty on offer for the medium-term. 88
