Stephen Brook | There are light aromas of woodsmoke and leather, as well as the cherry fruit of Sangiovese. The attack is sleek and silky, refined rather than powerful, and the tannins are subtle and fine-grained, giving structure and persistence. The palate is lifted by fine acidity, and while this isn’t especially weighty or complex, it’s balanced and stylish. Quite long. | 90
Andrew Jefford | Very deep though translucent black-red. Sweet, fresh, clean, with some discreet barrique? Cool, carefully defined black fruits in fresh style beneath. Suave and assured aromas, perfect for fine dining. Polished, long, and elegant, very much as the aromas sketched out. Very fine concentration, drawn long into the finish. Buffed, honed, polished—but very good. | 91
Michael Palij | Attractive nose, with notes of clove, cinnamon, strawberry, pencil shavings, black plum, and raspberry. Subtle oak and beautifully judged acidity give this a firm backbone from which the fruit can strut its stuff. Long finish, with dusty tannins and mouthwatering acidity drawing everything to a close, but the fruit hangs in there creating tension and interest. | 97
