Stephen Brook | There’s rivalry between sucrorsity and smokiness on the nose, which has intensity and lift and bright cherry and blackberry fruit. Very ripe and concentrated, but with corsetting tannins, this is both lean and forceful, a youthful and assertive style. The balance and structure seem impeccable, despite a slight furriness on the finish. That grip is impressive and should assure a long future. | 94
Andrew Jefford | Clear, limpid garnet-red. Warm, gentle, enticing: autumn hedgerow fruits (scented bramble) and dry woodland. Teasing and serene; quietly fragrant. Ten minutes later, the aromatics have amplified further without losing any equilibrium or class. Shapely, poised, and elegant, with a slightly cooler tone of fruit than I was expecting allied to fine, firm tannins. Sumptuous balance and impressive length; a lovely wine to find in your glass now, but it bodes well for the future, too. Impressive. | 92
Michael Palij | Heavily corked. Brettanomyces? Sadly there are no second bottles. Shame. | NS
