Andrew Jefford | Dark, dense black-red shading to a deep scarlet-red at the rim. Very attractive and beguiling fruit aromas of sweet black cherry and blackcurrant. Primarily fruity at this stage, but lots of purity and finesse and the wine will certainly acquire some secondary complexities in the next half-decade. Glorious fruit for now. That glorious fruit is very much what you find on the palate, and it has plenty of vivacity and balance, too. Concentrated, pure, and long: a great buy from fine terroir for the medium term. Don’t look for rich tannins, by contrast; this will be relatively accessible from the off. | 91
Michael Schuster | Blackberry-ripe and oak-cedary to smell; elegant medium-full wine, fresh, finely but firmly tannic; sweet and savory to taste, of moderate complexity, but nice length of flavor and aftertaste. Will need time to mellow. Refined in the (current) St-Emilion context. 2025–35. | 91
