Michael Schuster | Dense and fragrant, full of freshly defined ripe-black-fruit promise; concentrated, fresh, and firmly, finely tannic wine, beautifully constituted; deep, sweetly ripe core flavor, generous, mouthfilling, yet wonderfully contained and defined at the same time; long and complex and racy, marked by clear minerally/gravelly aromas, with considerable complexity and tenacity of flavor, all within a remarkably refined and polished tannin texture; and followed by a prolonged, subtly fruit-cored and aroma-packed persistence. Another quite splendid wine, somewhat more reserved and less absolutely magically, sensually seductive than the 2018, but very much at the same quality level and in the same league, so to speak. Once again, right at the top of the St-Emilion tree. Magnificent! 2035–55+.
