Bruno Besa | Ruby to garnet. Slightly closed yet complex and classic small-red-fruit nose, with prunes, minerals, spices, and dried Mediterranean herbs. Medium- to full-bodied, fine tannins well balanced by the mature black and red fruit. Long and mineral. Another classic Sangiovese for the cellar. | 93
Andrew Jefford | Clear dark black-red. Sweet, warm, and fragrant: freighted red and black fruits, withatouch of resin and vellum. Very attractive. Immediately attractive wine on the palate, with ample weight yet realized sweetly and tenderly, without any clumsiness; brimful of fruit, too, all of it veined with soft, ample tannins. There’s nothing forceful or thrusting here. It’s riper than many, but there’s ample balance in those tannins, and the low acidity is in no way a failing, since there is nothing torpid or fat-bellied here; quite the contrary. Splendid, deep, resonant, generous Brunello, accessible now, yet with much to give in the years ahead. | 93
Anthony Rose | Good dense youthful ruby hue; a fine nose, complex; then nice fruit richness on the palate, with a very firm structure of sinewy tannins and fresh acidity, supported by well-judged, precise oak maturation in a deliciously savory, authentic ensemble of classic Brunello. | 93
