Andrew Jefford: Deep, dark black-red though now translucent. Warm, sweet, expressive, still with some palpable oak though not in any way disfiguring. As was the case with one or two of the other 2015s, there is just a little touch of confit to the fruit aromas; one senses that the ripeness of this vintage was celebrated by growers. But why not? Very attractive and seductive; hard not to sip when you have smelled this. Deep and almost “gutsy” in the red Sancerre context, and a wine still in fine fettle. A big blast of almost plum-like fruit; the tannins, by contrast, are relatively subdued, and the acids are lowish for its latitude, suggesting a late pick or a very warm site. It won’t be to everyone’s taste but I’d enjoy an evening with this exuberant and unbridled wine. | 90
Jasper Morris: A darkish color, with quite a high-octane nose. There is some sweet oak on the palate, too, though not drying the fruit. A good wine but it doesn't quite get my saliva glands going. It finishes a little dry. | 85
Catherine Petrie: A medium crimson with good depth. The fruit here feels concentrated and distinctly Pinot Noir in character, with red-fruit nuance and savory attack. The palate is salty and succulent. The tannins are well-formed, ripe, and fluent. A delicious precision between oak and fruit has resulted in a beautiful structure. Impressive not only for its quality in the relief of its Sancerre peers, but also in the context of global Pinot Noir. | 93
