BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage | Pale straw-yellow. Clean, fresh, metallic aromas. Dry but with a hint of richness at the back, balancing acidity, medium-long on the finish. Drink as an aperitif or with light meats. | 89

Bruno Besa | Very pale straw. Quite closed, nuts and apples nose, with some fresh herbs. Lively palate yet simple fruit with moderate finish. | 86

Andrew Jefford | Steel-white. Sweet, fresh, and doughy, with some quince and yellow plum: classic Pinot Grigio aromas, in primary guise. A little grassiness here, too, as if it has 10% Sauvignon Blanc or Muscadelle from Gascogne in here as well. Attractive overall. Fair palate, but just a little bit warm and a little bit gluey, too—both of them failings repeatedly observable with Italian Pinot Grigio. But still an amply drinkable wine, with some charm and depth. | 84
