Simon Field: Cassis and laurel dominate the nose, expressive and already with pleasing definition. Bright and focused, there is youthful energy on the mid-palate, a darkly playful scherzo, and an impressive finish. | 88
Andrew Jefford: Ultra-saturated, deep black-purple, with a fierce midnight grimace to it. Spice, rose, and citrus peels dominate the blackcurranty fruits at present: very powerful and attractive aromas. This is a textured, full, and voluminous wine in calm, well-ordered, well-organized style, and with a dryer finish than some. Don’t be misled by the organisation, though—there is still a huge amount here, and it’s immensely gratifying: pristine, superbly defined blackcurrants, with just a little black-cherry sweetness, and fine suede tannins. Outstanding work here. | 92
Richard Mayson: Deep, opaque; still open, with very ripe, opulent cassis-like character to the nose, yet also showing restraint; similarly intensely ripe (almost overripe) fruit on the palate, perhaps lacking a bit of definition at this stage, but big and impressive, backed by ripe, gritty tannins that linger on a big, ripe finish with undertones of dark-chocolate concentration. | 90
