Simon Field: Typically robust in every respect; this vintage is not for the faint-hearted; patience and an appreciation for attention to detail are both required: herbs and soft spice, savory and poised. The wine is a little restrained at the moment; all the raw materials are present and correct, the spirit somewhat overwhelming thus far. | 89
Andrew Jefford: Saturated deep black-red. This Vintage Port has pretty black-fruits and crushed-stone scents, skillfully fashioned to convey a sense of fresh charm. It’s rather soft and submissive in the glass, without the force and ambition of the best wines of this vintage, but if you are looking for a 2011 to broach before long, this would be perfect, since it delivers all of the richness and poise of the year without too much detaining tannin, bite, and chew. | 89
Richard Mayson: Deep and dark, with a ripe, minty-eucalypt aroma, already open or still in the first bloom of youth? Lovely, soft, supple plum and berry fruit initially, suave, ripe tannins rising to a crescendo on the finish. Broad and complete. | 92
