Jesús Barquín:Ruby red, with orange rim and greenish hues. Serious and nutty on the nose, which is restrained and suggestive of only moderate sweetness. The palate confirms this, with greater definition of nuttiness and spiciness, but an alcoholic spike detracts. A remarkable wine nonetheless. 91
Andrew Jefford:Palely translucent a clear tawny amber. Earthy, planty—the tangle of undergrowth—and then a casky sweetness, too. Plum, prune, apricot, fig. Weighty, soft, and sweet on the palate, generous and round-contoured, comfortable and comforting, though without the aromatic finesse and nuance of the very best 20 Year Olds. 88
Richard Mayson:Good, mid-deep amber-tawny hue all the way through; rich, heady, and suave on the nose, lifted with some lovely, savory-casky complexity; similarly rich and satisfying on the palate, slightly soupy, quite full, but long and rich in style—a touch of roasted coffee on the finish. 86
